If you haven’t heard of Ethique before, you should put them on your radar. The New Zealand-based skincare company has subtly been making waves in the industry for years with its commitment to minimizing its carbon footprint and using plastic-free biodegradable packaging for every product. Ethique is a company that is making the world a better place, one product at a time.

Solid face cleanser for balanced to oily skin
The first product I tried from Ethique was a pinkish-red facial cleanser bar, now discontinued due to sourcing issues. Honestly, I like Deep Green much better. I like the use of the French clay and sea salt that gives the bar a refreshing greenish color that reminds me of the ocean. It also contains castor oil and sweet orange oil making, it gentle, yet the bar still packs a lathery punch that removes dirt, oil, and even make-up without drying out the skin.
Since I have started using Deep Green, my dermatologist even commented to me during my 6-month visit on how clear my skin looks.

Lip balm, cooling peppermint
According to Ethique's website, about 200 million plastic lip balm tubes are thrown away every year, most are not recycled.
After reading this statistic, I was curious to see if my plastic balm tubes are recyclable. Sadly, only was. The issue is that you can only recycle specific types of plastic that fall within the number symbol system. The problem is if the tub or any other plastic item is without a number, it will probably end up in a landfill.
Back to the review: I have suffered from chapped lips for years living in a dry climate such as Las Vegas. I decided to give Ethique’s lip balm a try out of desperation and after reading through all the positive reviews. One of the most appealing things about this balm is the ethically sourced ingredients. In my case, the less is more approach to this balm turned out to be the most effective treatment for my lips. The company does not add any unnecessary fillers or sweetness to its product. I only had to apply it twice during the day, in the morning and before bed. This magic lip balm brought my natural color back to my lips. I see myself using it regularly in the future.

Recently, Ethique was kind enough to send me a sample of their new lipstick. The lipstick comes in seven floral shades designed to make a bold statement.
What I like about this lipstick is it has buildable coverage with a satin finish that applies like a balm. It feels smooth on the lips, lasts all day, and keeps them moisturized. Before using this lipstick I would apply lip balm under my lipstick to keep them from becoming dry and feathering during the day. I no longer have to do this anymore. Even the darker shades apply effortlessly.
If you like wearing darker shades or reds, you know how much of a time saver this can be. I love the simplicity of the cardboard plastic-free packaging lipstick tub it comes in. However, there were moments when I felt like I was playing the game Operation to get the cover on without touching the lipstick. I found the most wearable shade that is flattering on every skin tone is Snapdragon is a rosy mauve with a touch of brown. It is my go-to shade that I wear when I want something subtle. When I want a more dramatic look, I wear Dahlia, a brick red with warm brown undertones. If you are new to wearing reds or feel reds don’t look good on you, this is that color you will want to try.
